Environment WG

Environmental Violence, Environmental Activism

In the face of global climate breakdown, the Environmental Violence, Environmental Activism Working Group aims to bring together environmental thinkers and activists from within the academy and beyond to collaborate, educate, and organise. We begin with three central areas of enquiry:

  1. The state’s complicity in perpetuating ecological violence;
  2. How the fallout of environmental crisis is and will continue to be unevenly distributed across the globe’s human population;
  3. How environmentalist movements can function to either dismantle or to reinforce the violent apparatus of the capitalist nation state.

To get involved, or if you would like more information, please contact the group’s facilitator Abigail Bleach at abigail.bleach@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk with the subject
